Planning Applications

The majority of development works will usually require planning permission to be obtained prior to any works commencing.

Permitted Development

Certain projects come within the General Permitted Development Order which allows you to carry out works without the need for full planning permission. In these cases, you would still need to submit outline drawings to the local authority to obtain confirmation that no planning permission is required.

Building Regulation Applications

Even if you do not need to obtain planning permission for your project, in the vast majority of cases you will still need to obtain a building regulations certificate, by supplying specific detailed information about your project such as the materials used, safety and installation requirements and the structural calculations and specification notes.
